“universal glue-on cuff”. |

|
1/16 thick spacers & small clamps |
Horseshoe with sticky 1/16 inch spacers applied at toe & the heels. More
spacers used on size 5 plate. |
|
 |
 |
Shape universal cuff to fit the shoe.
Apply adhesive to both shoe & plate and
place clamp over the spacers. |
The clamps & spacers will squeeze the acrylic glue to an ideal 1/16
inch thickness for a strong, reliable, metal to metal bond.
|
-
Prepare both the shoe & cuff metal bonding surfaces
with clean sandpaper or grind lightly with a clean grinding disk.
-
Gently bend the cuff to exactly fit the contours of
the shaped shoe.
-
Acrylic Adhesives are recommended for joining the
cuff & the shoe (~ 30-40 gram per shoe).
-
The clamps hold the cuff in position on the shoe
during adhesive set & cure. Clamp directly over the spacers.
-
Allow the acrylic adhesive to cure for 20+ minutes
to bond cuff to shoe (longer at temperatures lower than 70ºF ).
Longer cure times are suggested for larger shoes, particularly for
sizes greater than size 2.
-
If the cuff is large & extends over shoe heel, allow
adhesive to fully cure & use a saber saw to cut the excess. Lightly
grind the cut surfaces to smooth.
